WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT

We set up Sunshine Coast Kettlebells to create a friendly and inclusive space where people could train together to become stronger, fitter and more active. Our kettlebell tribe welcomes and supports everyone from diverse backgrounds and various fitness ability levels.


We're different to big gyms that offer zero support, zero guidance, and operates on the hope that members DON'T show up. We don't want you to get lost in the numbers.

We WANT you to come and succeed! 


We strive to live healthier and happier lives and we enjoy helping and supporting others do the same. We’re not seeking to push you beyond your comfort zone, and we’re not trying to put people into competitions. We're all about getting stronger, fitter and more resilient together!


When you get stronger, we all get stronger as a community.  

HELLO, I'M GEOFF FORD

I’m Geoff Ford, the founder of Sunshine Coast Kettlebells. I am a passionate Physiotherapist, Yoga teacher and Strongfirst certified kettlebell instructor. I love the outdoors and I am a very keen surfer, snowboarder and pursue a life filled with adventure and travel.


I am inspired to create a community of like-minded people who want to live active and healthy lives, so I launched Sunshine Coast Kettlebells. After being on my own journey working as a lawyer and environmental consultant in Brisbane to discovering Yoga and kettlebells and realising the life-changing effects of exercise, I decided to dedicate my life to helping others improve their health and fitness.


I am passionate about seeing people transform their lives. I studied a Masters of Physiotherapy at Curtin University, which gave me the expertise and knowledge to help people achieve their health related goals. 


I am dedicated to mentor and teach people, including those who are recovering from pain and injury, to build a strong, resilient body so they can live an active life. Kettlebells provide an easily accessible, versatile, affordable but most importantly enjoyable way to build strength, muscular endurance, aerobic capacity and flexibility - that is, they provide all of the components of physical fitness. 


I decided to become a Strongfirst certified kettlebell instructor as Strongfirst teaches ‘hardstyle’ Russian kettlebell techniques of the highest technical standards.
